Yes, the cellular device needs to be turned on in order to extract data. Note: Standard precautions should be taken to prevent phones from acquiring or attempting to acquire a network connection. |

| What can I do if the cellular device I'm trying to extract from is password protected? | |||||||
Contact the service provider associated with the cellular device you are trying to extract from. Note: some devices are designed to wipe their contents after a set number of incorrect password entry attempts. Do not attempt to guess the password! |
