HTCI Turns Testing into Real Prosecution

Press Release - Tuesday, August 19, 2003

The Logicube forensic SF-5000 system was evaluated by the High Tech Crime Institue. Their findings are as follows:

"During the evaluation time that we have had to look at the demo unit, I had the occasion to use the device in an actual scenario.  As a deputy sheriff I was called to a case that involved an elderly man trafficking child pornography.  The elderly man gave consent for us to look at his machine on site but would not consent to us removing the system from the house.  We needed to make a backup of his hard drive on site.  I used the SF5000 to image the suspects drive on site which was then analyzed and found to contain images of child pornography.  The highlights to the device are its portability and ease of use at the scene.  Because of the rugged case and structure it is perfect to be left in the patrol car without being damaged.  Without this device that evening we would not have been able to collect the 5 hard drives as quickly as we did.

On a second note I have now shown the SF5000 in Arkansas and Minnesota classes that we teach.  The unit has received many high marks for it’s ease of use and portability.  I know we have also sold at least two devices to students in those classes, and had a lot of other questions from the students.  Your product is receiving great exposure in our classroom."
